About Me

I'm Chris Petersen, I have been playing DOTA since its earliest versions as the Warcraft 3 mod. Ever since Esports started taking off, I have been following the competitive scene in DOTA very closely and even participated in several different leagues such as Starladder and WePlay!.

My own role in the game has slowly but steadily been moving around, right now I'm focusing on support heroes!

I can offer to teach you everything from basic roles and goals to team-oriented tactics and grand strategies. Strong communication is key in a game of dota, my coaching will be no different - we will discuss closely what topics you want to focus on and I will make sure we can tackle them!

Coaching Review

I worked alongside Conor in the summer and fall of 2018. Since then, I have stopped coaching Overwatch while Conor has continued devoting time to the development of amateur talent. Having kept up with his coaching endeavors since 2018 and am happy to see growth in the players he has worked with. Although I haven’t worked with him as of late, I am confident speaking to his abilities knowing that he has continued developing himself the past several years. We worked together coaching a beginner-level team that participated in the Overwatch competition league, Owlet. As a coach, Conor's strongest qualities are his commitment to players, extensive knowledge, and professionalism. In our team environment, he worked with all the players individually on top of directing the team. Whenever a player wanted to cover a first-person VOD, he was willing to work with their schedule to deliver personalized feedback. His feedback went beyond the expectation for free coaching, spending as much time as needed to with each player. Moreso, Conor would respond to questions sent through Discord with detailed and comprehensive responses. This commitment paid off as all players on the team showed significant growth in mechanical skill and ladder ranking. When I invested in the Overwatch scene I met many “coaches” where it was apparent they had little mind for the game and the title was self-appointed. It’s my personal belief that up to the highest tiers of Overwatch play, a strong understanding of the game can compensate for mechanical skill. In that sense, a good coach is a good player with the ability to teach others. Conor has played and achieved high placings on the ranked leaderboard in addition to competing on high-tier amateur teams. It was easy to see his individual skill transition into the knowledge he shared during VOD reviews. Effective teaching to a novice is the mark of personal mastery and Conor’s quality VOD review’s are a testament to his understanding. The quality I admired in Conor during this time was his top class-professionalism despite working in a league that was a hobby for most participants. He never missed a scheduled time for any reason other than illness. Additionally, his professionalism made it easy to garner the respect and attentiveness of the players. During reviews, he was mindful of the time allotted and diligent to maximize the lesson’s value. These qualities displayed I would expect from a full-time coach working with a sponsored team.

Q: What skill level should I choose? A: Our skill levels are set up to give you the best experience possible. If you're at the high school level of the game, then choose high school. The same goes for if you have or want to play professionally, you would choose "Professional."

Q: What should I expect from the coaching session? A: Our coaches will perform VOD reviews and give pointers based on what they see. Our intent is to raise your skill level from wherever you are at.
