(The Damascus layering is done prior to your workshop, if you want to make your Damascus it will take an additional day and cost more) In this workshop, ButterHog Forge will help you forge your own custom Damascus knife with an 8-10" blade. Starting with a Damascus billet, we will forge, heat treat, grind and ad a wood handle. You get to pick the wood and pins for the handle.This Damascus knife forging workshop takes approximately 9-10 hours to complete. You can also split the workshop up over the course of multiple sessions at no additional cost. No experience is necessary, however you do need some strength to wield the hammer (similar to driving a nail into a board). This is a one-on-one workshop unless you bring family and friends. Max of 2 participants. You will start with a Damascus billet that I have previously forge welded. We will use whatever dense or stabilized wood I have on hand or you may supply your own handle material. These are full tang knives, NO HIDDEN TANGS OR KNIVES WITH GUARDS. 

Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes! No shorts or sandals!
