An in-depth experience of Barcelona’s oldest neighborhood.
The historic ‘Barri Gótic’ has been a witness to urban excitement for over 2000 years. The heart of the Gothic Quarter, where the Roman forum once stood, has been the center of Barcelona’s city-life since the year 16 B.C., and remains as dynamic and enthralling today. Lively festivals, open markets, and political demonstrations (some more peaceful than others) add character to its enchanting ‘plazas’ and cobblestoned streets. You’ll stroll by boutiques, bakeries, art galleries, and restaurants that opened their doors before your great-great-great grandparents were born.
I invite you to wander with us through the Gothic Quarter’s maze of ancient alleyways to discover its most sequestered nooks and majestic medieval relics. If you’re interested, we’ll also include a stroll through the historic Jewish Quarter (or ‘Call’), where we can visit the remains of what’s presumed to be Europe’s oldest synagogue. Depending on your appetite, you can ask to do a quick stop during the tour to sample my favorite, traditional mid-afternoon treat: ‘churros con chocolate’, or a cool glass of fresh ‘horchata’, or add an extra hour to the end of your tour to enjoy some fresh local tapas and wine with your guide at one of our favorite restaurants. Taste this neighborhood’s delectable charm!
By choosing the full-day option, you’ll ensure a more comprehensive Barri Gótic experience, along with a more thorough look into some of the other neighborhoods comprising Barcelona’s ‘Ciutat Vella’, or Old City, including the eclectic and alternative Raval, the glamorous and trendy Ribera, and the rustic portside Barceloneta.

General Tour Guidelines
• All tours are private and tailor-made to suit the needs of each individual client.
• All tours are in English, with other languages available upon request.
• Unless otherwise specified, tours include monument exteriors only. If you wish to tour
the interiors of any museums, monuments, or attractions with your guide as part
of your private tour, please specify during planning process, as this will determine
the guide we put you with and must be arranged in advance.
• Since sampling the local foods and drinks is one of the most important parts of city
discovery, we try our best in every tour to wander “off the beaten track” for traditional
snacks and/or meals in local joints along the way. Stop for a Spanish coffee or a sip of
wine; try a deliciously fresh, homemade ‘horchata’ or endulge in an order of ‘churros
con chocolate’. Or, enjoy a selection of typical ‘tapas’ at one of our favorite,
out-of-the-way haunts.

Our Cancellation Policy:
- All confirmed tours, activities, transfers and additional services will take place rain or shine. Please keep that in mind and remember to dress accordingly.
- At the time of the tour, activity, transfer or service's confirmation, 20% of the total price becomes immediately non-refundable. The remainder will be refunded in the event of a cancellation carried out earlier than 29 days prior to the service date.
- For cancellations 15-28 days prior to the tour or service date, 50% of the total cost will be refunded.
- For cancellations within the final 14 days prior to the tour or service date, the total cost is non-refundable.
- Scheduling changes on confirmed tours, activities, transfers and other services be treated as cancellations unless the same guide/professional/provider is available at the new requested day/time.
