La description
By far the biggest underwater attraction in the Mexican Caribbean has to be the much-anticipated annual whale shark migration from June 1st to September 15th. These gentle giants of the deep, known to reach up to 40ft in length, can be found in the waters around Isla Mujeres. Each whale shark has its own unique set of spots and stripes and has a lifespan of up to 70 years.
Take a one-hour boat ride out to see them and you will be able to safely swim and snorkel alongside these magnificent creatures. The whale sharks are an unforgettable sight, as they glide along the surface, their mouths opening up to 5ft wide to feed on plankton.
Includes
- Snorkel equipment: mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit (optional) and life vest (mandatory).
- Coffee, pastries, bottled water, fresh fruit, seafood ceviche snack.
- Entrance to National Park
Please note that whale shark tours do not operate on the 30th day of each month. So no whale shark tours on 30 June, 30 July or 30 August.
