At Tank'd Pro Dive Center in the vibrant dive haven of Utila, Honduras, we're thrilled to offer the SSI Explorers Program – the ultimate in-water course designed exclusively for young ocean explorers! Tailored for kids aged 6 and up, this engaging program from Scuba Schools International (SSI) transforms curiosity into confidence through hands-on aquatic fun. Imagine your child snorkeling crystal-clear Caribbean waters, dipping into introductory scuba dives, or even swimming like a mermaid – all while learning to protect our blue planet. It's not just a course; it's an unforgettable family adventure in one of the world's top dive destinations!

Prerequisites: 

• All Explorer programs except Scuba Explorer: 6 years old
• Scuba Explorer: 8 years old
• Swim 12 meters/40 feet without any swim or buoyancy aids.

What Makes SSI Explorers Special?

Guided by our certified SSI Explorers Instructors, your child will dive into a colorful world of learning with the program's interactive manual, featuring fun characters like brave diver Emma, tech-savvy Nico, gear guru Spike the shark, and eco-hero Shelly. The course kicks off with Blue Oceans Explorers, building a foundation in ocean conservation – from discovering the five oceans to simple ways kids can make a difference.

From there, the excitement ramps up in the confined water:

• Snorkel Explorer: Master basic snorkeling gear and techniques for safe surface exploration.
• Scuba Explorer: Take your first breaths underwater with introductory scuba skills – no prior experience needed!
• Mermaid Explorer: Glide gracefully with mermaid tail swimming for a magical twist.
• Freediving Explorer: Learn breath-hold basics for gentle underwater freedom.

Kids can earn all three core ratings or branch into 22 thrilling Specialty Explorer badges, like Shark Ecology, Underwater Photography, or Rescue Explorer. Each milestone comes with cool stickers, badges, and a personal logbook to track their triumphs – perfect for sharing with friends and family!
