The Humpback Whales are regular visitors to the Bay of Samaná. Every year from mid-January until mid-April these huge mammals leave the Arctic to mate and give birth in the protected bay along the Dominican Republic’s east coast. The whales have been wintering in this region for centuries.
This is evidenced by the old Taino cave painting in the nearby “Los Haitises” National Park which depicts blowing whales. The Humpback Whale is a water mammal known for their liveliness and their singing. They can attain a length of 15 meters and weigh up to 30 tons.
Our tour begins taking the new road on one of our modern equipped transport, an hour road trip watching the countryside along the coast and the range Anamuya & heading to the fishermen town of Cañitas.
Take place in our comfortable boat and enjoy the ride to the sanctuary of the Humpback Whales.
Visit one of the most amazing waterfalls in the country Salto El Limon. You will not want to leave this amazing place once you arrive here you will have leisure time for pictures and swimming. You can get there either by Hiking or Horseback.
