Teens (and mature preteens) can learn the techniques of primitive fishing, including, as time permits:

• making a fish trap
• catching fish by hand
• maybe even creating stone and bone tools

They’ll learn how to forage for wild edibles:

• identifying
• processing
• preparing; and
• primitively cooking ’em!

Other wilderness crafting may be possible too–making cordage, working on bows, etc.
