Description
This globally-recognized certification program is the best way to begin your life-long adventure as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.
We do not include accommodations with our courses. However, our room prices start at $65/night. Since you will also be diving with us you will qualify for our Stay & Dive bundle which will save you 10% off your diving. The hotel is quite busy right now so it’s highly recommended that you place a reservation in advance.
The course costs $290 and typically takes 3 days.
Once you decide to do the course with us, we invoice you for the course. Only 50% of the total is due to begin the digital learning.
Next we will need for you to upload the MySSI app and sign in by creating a free account. You’ll need to choose Tank’d Pro Dive as your dive center. Once that’s completed and and the deposit has been paid, we can then add your course into your MySSI account and you can start your digital learning immediately.
We will be available to answer any questions you might have as you read through the digital materials.
Once you arrive on Utila we can begin your course. We can start your course any day of the week.
On day 1, you will learn how to set up and use the scuba gear in a shallow water area. Plan on spending most of this day with us.
On day 2. You will do 2 dives with us in the morning reviewing the skills you’ve learned in deeper water. You will have the afternoon off to explore Utila on this day.
On day 3. You will do 2 dives with us in the morning reviewing the skills you’ve learned in deeper water. Once you return from the dives, you will be able to dry off and then we will sit down and you will take the final exam and complete the remaining training records.
Cancellation Policy
Scheduled Divers:
- Failure to arrive Scheduled time will result in No-Show cancellation.
- Failure to Provide Proper Certification information may result in cancellation if proof cannot be found within the scheduled timeframe.
- Failure to prove self-sufficiency prior to dives (gear setup) may result in cancellation of dives due to lack of necessary beginner skills, this is up to the discretion of our Dive Center Manager.
Tank'd Pro Dive Center Utila is known for providing the uppermost customer service in Utila and ensuring each diver is kept as safe as possible. If any of the above criteria is met, we will be forced to cancel your dives, resulting in a zero refund policy as you have taken the space for another possible diver to join. No-Shows for scheduled dives will also be considered cancellations and no refunds will be processed.
