Whale Watching Tour

Whale observation with the Humpback whales of Guerrero

Location

Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa

Description

A whale of a time with the humpback whales in Mexico! The humpback whales migrate to the waters of Guerrero every year in December to reproduce and give birth. During the few months of their stay, we are incredibly lucky to observe those beautiful giants trying to seduce a female or a mother interacting with her calf. The whale watching tour with Dive Zihua lasts 3 to 4 hours and is the best way to observe the humpback whales.  Every tour is led by a marine biologist who fully narrates and answers questions.  We collect valuable data on the marine mammals sighted during these trips, including distribution, relative abundance, and behavior of whales and dolphins. The boat offers a 360 degree view, is very spacious and has a cover for the sun. We also have a hydrophone to listen to whales underwater if they are singing. We provide water and small snacks. We are accredited by SEMARNAT (secretary of environment and natural resources of Mexico) and the Whales of Guerrero research project for responsible whale watching. Our tours are available morning and afternoon on request. Join us for a good time

Species we might observe during the whale watching tour; Humpback whales, Pacific White-Sided dolphins, Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles and many species of birds

* Minimum 2 person required for the tour. Pricing differs if you are a total of 2 or more in the boat. If you book for 2 at a price and we end up with more in the boat for the tour you will have the difference reimbursed.
