Discover/Intro to Scuba

Location

Cozumel

Description

This is an introductory course to scuba, otherwise known as a “Resort Course”:  a 2-3 hour first experience in Cozumel’s special underwater world.

You will initially breathe off SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) in 3-4 feet of water. As the comfort level increases, you will be taken to a depth of about 12 feet where several basic exercises are practiced. The experience most often culminates with an instructor/supervised fun dive to about 25 feet.

If you decide to continue into a full certification course, the price paid for this course will be applied toward the cost of full certification through Dive Paradise.

Notes:

  • Equipment Included (Basic scuba gear: mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), dive gauges and a tank.)
  • This class is not a certification course and thus does not qualify you for boat dives.  However, following this course, students can hire one of our private instructors to go on a boat dive trip!
  • Minimum Age: 10 years old.
  • No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but students need to be in reasonable physical health.

Adaptive Discover Scuba (for physically disabled guests) is taught by an Instructor specializing in adaptive scuba diving, and includes an additional in-water Divemaster buddy/escort and on-land transfer assistance

Please also submit your diver registration and waiver online!

What CANNOT be Refunded:
Dive Paradise will not be responsible for, and will not issue refunds or credits for the following:

  • Any unused portion of a hotel/dive package or dive course.
  • Early departure from Cozumel by customer’s choice.
  • Missed dives and associated costs due to travel delays.  We will always try to reschedule based on availability.
  • Customer’s failure to supply proper identification for entry to Mexico. It is the passenger’s responsibility to comply with customs and immigration laws.

Protect your investment!  We STRONGLY recommend that all divers purchase a comprehensive Travel Insurance policy for reservations, with trip cancellation coverage.  For US and Canadian citizens, we suggest travel insurance from either The Divers Alert Network (DAN) or DiveAssure.  For all other nationalities, we recommend travel insurance from DiveAssure.

Any refund requests based on extenuating circumstances will be determined by our General Manager after consultation with the divers’ travel/dive insurance company and, when relevant, with our on-island physician. Dive Paradise will offer a “rain-check” at our discretion.
