Harbor area and scenic waterways

Beschreibung

Charleston Harbor is a vibrant and lively place.  Our harbor hosts one of the busiest ports on the east coast, and is always bustling with activity.  With so much of the waterfront heavily developed over the years, sometimes it’s easy to forget how lovely the City of Charleston's shoreline really is unless you hop in a boat and see it from the water!

From war-era forts, to colonial era historic homes and buildings, to The USS Yorktown Naval Museum, Charleston Harbor is certainly one of a kind.  Your experienced captain will guide you through and around the Harbor area and offer a firsthand view of how close by the historic waterfront is to the working port system.

You’ll see where and how the port and shipping industries have for centuries operated hand in hand with Navy and Merchant Mariner operations in this area to grow Charleston into the vibrant and culturally diverse port city that it has always been.

PIck up at Shem Creek park

Our pick-up and drop off point for all charters and tours is the day-dock at Shem Creek Park, Shrimp Boat Ln, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464

Shem Creek is one of the liveliest spots in Charleston!  Traditionally where Charleston’s Commercial Fishing & Shrimping fleet docks, Shem Creek remains one of the most vibrant waterways in the area.

It’s a great place for us to start, because launching the boat right there amongst the Shrimpers will give you an immediate feel for how important water culture is to the local community here in Charleston.

And it’s a great place to finish, because there are so many great restaurants and bars to choose from in easy walking distance down the boardwalk!

Shem Creek Park is a public park so always remember to be respectful to the space and to other guests enjoying the marsh-walk and docks.

There is plenty of free parking. There are also air conditioned public restrooms in the parking area at the start of the Marsh Walk & boardwalk.

As you arrive at the lot, park immediately on your right and walk on the boardwalk through the creek towards the second gazebo.

Your boat will be at the dock below that 2nd gazebo.

Shem Creek Park is 20 minutes from downtown Charleston and 10-15 minutes from Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island.

The boardwalk runs a few hundred meters through the marsh out to a small fishing pier with a floating dock on Shem Creek.

Your boat and captain will pick you up at the floating dock.

We strive to maintain good communication with our clients throughout the process, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns locating the boat or with passenger loading.
