The I&M Canal Boat and Visitor Center in LaSalle are owned and managed by the Canal Corridor Association: www.iandmcanal.org
The I&M Canal Boat the Volunteer is our mule-powered, 1840s-replica canal boat located at the I&M Canal State Trail – Lock 14 Access, LaSalle IL. The boat runs from late May through October and is accessible to those who use manually-powered mobility aids, such as walkers, crutches, canes and non-motorized wheelchairs. Ticket purchases are available all year long–making this a lovely gift you can purchase or get-together you can plan any time of year.
The Canal Boat is near our I&M Canal Visitor Center and Lock 16 Gift Shop and Café, which is located at 754 First Street,La Salle, IL so pop in if you have questions, want to buy tickets in person, need to use the restrooms before you embark or are looking for a tasty bite or beverage. The Lock 16 Café serves delicious, handcrafted foods and beverages.
You can support the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Area by visiting our Merchandise tab. Curbside pick up or Shipping is available. You can give a gift card for a Boat ride, Afternoon Tea, Coffee, Lunch & Gifts at Lock 16.

Founded in 1981, the Canal Corridor Association, a 501(c)3 non profit organization that preserves history, protects nature, and creates destinations where people can learn and have fun in the I&M Canal National Heritage Area. The Canal Corridor Association is designated by Congress in 2006 as the local coordinating entity for the I&M Canal National Heritage Area, the nation’s first national heritage area.
